Of the different kinds of add-ons, which if any can be used with the EE core version?
I’m assuming that Modules, you only get what comes with the EE core and those can not be added, but as for the others I just don’t know.

* Plugins
* Modules
* Extensions

Another quick question, is there a specific set of help documentation for the core version?

Any of those Add-Ons can be used with the Core-Version as long as they don’t happen to depend on any official modules that are only shipped with Personal or Commercial.

The Modules that you don’t get as a Core-User are:
Discussion Forum Module, Email Module, Photo Gallery Module, Mailing List Module, Member Management Module, Mobile Blogging (Moblog) Module, Pages Module,  Query Module, Simple Commerce Module, Updated Sites Module, Wiki Module

They are included in the paid versions.

The help documentation applies to all versions. You just don’t need the parts dealing with above mentioned modules.

Also; I’d been wondering what the heck mo-blogging is all about and hadn’t quite figured out it had something to do with blogging from your mobile (Mobile Blogging (Moblog) Module).

Stats Module
Trackback Module

Posting this to myself if no one else, I keep having trouble finding where it is that I’ve seen this chart on the pricing page that shows the modules included with the various licenses.
