hi, first off i want to say that expressionengine is WAAAAYYYYY easier than joomla

    site in question: http://www.northcity.org

i want two data variables on one line

for example “{title}” and “{written by} to be on one line
it seems to me that there is a default “” code when entering a variable

i was wondering how to get rid of that

    thank you

The field {written_by} is probably set to xhtml. So it gets automatically wrapped into .

    Under
CP Home ›  Admin ›  Weblog Administration ›  Field Groups > your custom field
    you can change the
“Default Text Formatting for This Field”
    to “none”.

Then it will be just plain text.
