As far as I can tell from the docs, I can’t just put a {paginate} block somewhere and have it actually render there. The block is relocated to either “top” or “bottom” or “both.” But what if I want to put it someplace specific? Is there a way?

Search for the Reeposition plugin, by Mr Wilson. I don’t have a link but it can help you here =)

Oh, yeah… now THAT is what I’m talking about! Thanks Lisa!
I was just searching for “paginate,” not “reposition.” Too many words in English. Please eliminate 5,000.

HIya,
Sorry to butt in on the end like this but I think that you could also do it without using any plugins by just having another weblog tag with just the paginate options in and placing that wherever you like on the page?
So you would just have something like this :
{exp:weblog:entries weblog="{my_weblog}" orderby="date" sort="desc" limit="1" disable="member_data|trackbacks"}
{paginate}
<div class="paginate">
<span class="pagecount">Page {current_page} of {total_pages} pages</span> {pagination_links}
</div>
{/paginate}
{/exp:weblog:entries}Not tested but pretty sure that it should work. Hopefully not too intensive on the load on the server. As I say not really tested so don’t know if this would create a performance hit or not? Maybe it helps though?
Regards,
Mark

That was actually the solution I was looking to avoid. I don’t know for sure either, but I can only assume that another set of calls like that would be a hit on the server.
