I’ve changed the Member Profile Form at “CP Home ›  Admin ›  Members and Groups ›  Member Profile Templates ›  Default ›  Member Profile Form” but the actual form at “CP Home ›  Member Account ›  Edit Profile” has not changed. When I go and check my changes to the template I see they’ve saved. Can someone explain?

    Hi, Adam -

What URL are you visiting the profile at (just the part after index.php)? And what version and build are you on?

That was fast! Viewing a superadmin as another superadmin at URL ?S=0&C=myaccount&id=11 and using v1.6 build 20070622—guess that’s not the latest is it?

That’s not the latest and you should upgrade as there were a few early bugs in there.

But the member profile templates don’t effect the CP My Account page, which is what you’re viewing - they only change the public facing member templates, such as at /member/profile/ etc.

OK, will update. How to change the CP My Account page then? Users will be accessing this and some may be ornery older folks and won’t want extraneous fields that they never use. I took a look at cp.members.php but was afraid to touch.

Your best bet would be to write an extension for that page, and I’m not sure the difficulty involved therein.  I think there is a “hide tabs” extension to just hide it so that they have to go through the public-facing ones, which might also be an option.
