I’ve just added a simple contact form to my website and was curious if it’s possible to customize the pages which display the form’s error messages, such as when you do not complete the form or “the message has been sent” page.

I think you are looking for the User Message Template in Admin -> Specialty Templates.

Glad to hear it - you can find a few other templates there you may wish to customize too =)
