I’ve had a look at what people have asked before and seen that the sites have to be hosted on the same server, which mine are.  They are on completely separate account though, is that OK or would I have to set the second domain up as an addon site of the first so they are on the same account?

Well, it depends. It might be possible to set the necessary permissions, so “directory traversal” is possible, but that’s not a given. It would require some knowledge and quite possibly the cooperation of the server admin. It is certainly much easier running all sites under one account.

I am the server admin 😊  It sounds like it’s just easier to set the 2nd site up and an addon site of the 1st in cPanel and that’s easy enough to do.  I’m going to completely rebuild the 2nd site anyway so now would be a good time to do that.

Well, you would get to play with permissions and such, then 😊 Yes, definitely easier to keep it all in one account.
