I’m looking for help in organizing an online version of a law journal. The site will publish content quarterly, with each publish date being an “issue.” Within each issue, there will be articles, replies to previous articles, and notes.

Ideally, the editor would be able to post an article, assign an issue number to it , and have EE display the latest issue’s content , while archiving the previous issue. I’m having trouble deciding if an Issue should be a category or a custom field, and the method for displaying only the content within that certain issue on the home page.

This is my second EE site, so I’m still learning the multitude of ways that an EE site can be structured. I’m seeking advice and ideas on the best way to construct the law journal’s architecture.
