Is there software available that will let you download your EE website/blog and then burn it to a CD for local viewing?

Nothing directly. There are a few spidering programs out there that will download an entire site.

Windows: http://www.httrack.com/ - Basically a graphical wget. Works really nice.

Mac: I just run httrack through Parallels. Though there is a Fink package out there, if you’re into that sort of thing.

You might like an Apache server that will host the site right off the CD.
A small readme might be required to instruct the user how to start the server.
What to double-click. You really can’t beat Xampp, just googling “portable web server” brought up several tutorials.

Just came across a need for this kind of thing again.
    SiteSucker rocks.

Just a thought…encrypted flash drive vs. cd. 😉

I just looked into a couple of those website on CD things. Including PHP & Mysql, so we’ll just run EE instead. It’s all read only (so that might cause a few headaches), but should be interested.
