Besides categories we’d like to be able to show posts by topic—like the tags you use in WordPress. Is this built-in, or need to be installed, or not possible? How hard to get this going?

Also, We’d like the option of having it span weblogs.

So You’d have Dogs, Cats, Birds as Categories.

Then as tags you’d have Buying, Feeding, Training.

We might have Dogs, Cats, Birds as Weblogs though, not sure yet, and Buying/Feeding/Training could cut across the weblogs.

Absolutely, see Tag from solspace.com - Tag 2.0 adds support for galleries, too, which is very neat.  It’s an excellent module.

Also, could these tags cut across modules?

For example, show all pieces of content related to Training or Dogs, whether it’s a Weblog post, Wiki entry, Forum topic, etc.

We are 3 weeks into our 30day demo. I wish I could test it out. Any way to put this into the demo?

No, you could install it and try it out on EECore, though.

The module doesn’t support the forum or wiki at the moment - but you could post on Solspace’s forums asking for that functionality, or suggestions for adding it yourself.

GAH i hope I didn’t make a mistake.

I just purchased tag and it says version 1.x. There was no 2.0 in the link you posted.

But when I go to the documentation i see docs for 2.0

So where is 2.0 on the site?

Well, I found the answer and did some work tonight. I got this module running and I must say, this is a very polished module. I love it. Anymore it seems like if you don’t have tags going you’re behind the curve. So this should really help search engine placement. At least I hope so 😊

Now if I could hire someone to go through my 2000 entries and categorize them…... Free.
