OK, I tried downloading from another PC and updating the files on the server then (as my virus scanner gave me some errors with the archives and extracted archives on my reg PC -something about original file size not the same as the one on disk or something), but with the same results: CSS-less page when not logged in, the notice at the top of the page when logged in (but then WITH CSS). When trying to view the CSS via the webdeveloper toolbar, the CSS loads fine, so the links work.

I’ve verified the path to the themes folder in general config. I’ve renamed the system folder, bu tI did that before I installed EE Core, so that can’t be it.

What extensions am I running? Comment Spam Prevention (v.1.1)  and Bad Behavior 2 Extension (v.2.0.0).

I don’t know where to look anymore :-(

Can you try disabling the extensions and see if that helps?

Also, can you PM a link to the control panel? No login details, just the link so I can view the source real quick.

The CP works fine, its the site homepage and all other pages that are giving me this headache.

Lisa saw that the CSS is all in one line, I’ll go verify that now.

the site_css template looks good to me and viewing the site’s css thru the webdev toolbar works too, showing the CSS as it should be. No clue as to why it isn;t loaded :-(

OK, this may be tough: could someone please verify that http://www.herkocoomans.net loads the homepage without any CSS loaded? I mean, white background, blue links underlined etc.?

It seems to show CSS for me - Safari 2 / OSX

OK, now we’re getting somewhere: it seems to work in safari macosx (I verified that just now), but not in Firefox on mac osx and windows 2000 and vista. Lemme check on MSIE for vista… Grrrr. that works too.

Now, it seems its something that is blocking the css to load for firefox only? This is getting wierd (especially since this issue started after I upgraded from EE 1.5.2 core to EE 1.5.2 Personal and then 1.6.0 personal).

I would start with attempting to validate the page.  I see Firefox reports it text/html rather than text/css.  Can youc heck that your path.php and config.php have no empty characters above or below the opening and closing php calls, respectively?

The import rule broke *something* in FF, as one error was that html can’t be imported. Commented that out and the error is gone (imported the stylesheet loaded via link the line above, so it was useless anyway). But why does EE send the site_css file as html and not as css??

Have you set the template to CSS Stylesheet in the Template Preferences?

Did you confirm that there was no empty whitespace in those files, as mentioned?

Seems your webserver is forcing text/html for files without known extension.
    Your rss-feed is also text/html.
