This is probably yet another instance of blindness on my part… but…
I found the docs for setting File Upload preferences. (http://expressionengine.com/docs/cp/admin/weblog_administration/file_upload_preferences.html)
However, I cannot find anything that deals with managing media once it is uploaded or actually using that media in weblog posts…
...help?

Hi, Mike -
On the publish tab when entering/editing an entry, under the Publish buttons you should see an icon entitled File Upload. Click on that - it will let you upload a new file as well as browse files currently uploaded to insert them in posts.
