Disallowed Key Characters

It comes from the webmail the clients are using.

This is a major concern now if it’s going to clash with expression engine as the use the webmail daily and need to view their site..!

Webmail hosting is through http://www.names.co.uk or http://www.luellasboudoir.co.uk/webmail

Odd as it may seem it works fine if you log-in and logout, it’s only when you send an email a cookie gets set.

Is there anything we can do as a work around?

I would first contact the webmail software developers, and see if it’s possible to disable that cookie, or for them to use only valid characters per the RFC guidelines (reference RFC 2109 and RFC 2068).  I’m not so optimistic that that will get anywhere, but it’s definitely worth a shot, and would be the “correct” solution.

The alternative is to modify the Input class to allow these specific cookies through, though there’s nothing wholly unique about the cookie that could safely be assured to only allow this cookie to pass, since the name appears to even be personalized per user (uk_rachel).

Almost a year later but I just wondered if you ever found a solution Paul? 😊

I did, the hosting company were saving the cookie for the users webmail to the root of the server, these were confilicting with EE.

The hosting company agreed it was rather daft saving them to the root and changed/moved them to the webmail folder.

    What a result 😊

    Thanks eveyone for the help.
