Hi I wonder if anyone can help…

I’m wondering if it is possible to provide my categories as a drop-down list under the ‘Publish Form’ tab.

If this has not been done - could anyone point me in the correct direction. Could I create an extension/plugin?

Hi, Dave -

That drop down is for websites, not categories.  Are you saying you wanted to drill down website to category?  You might need an extension for that, or a feature request, or both.

I don’t think I’m explaining myself very well!

What I’d like to do is make my categories for a particular weblog available to the publisher as a drop-down list in the ‘publish form’ as opposed to where they usually live in the ‘categories tab’.

Does that make sense?

Ah,yes that does make more sense.  It’ll always be a multi-select and not a dropdown, since you can choose many categories.  But you might have a look at this extension as a beginning to how to do this.  You may even like it in that format which would then be a full solution.
