    Is there any reason/settings that could explain the following ;

    When I register a new test user, I received the activation email. I activated the account by clicking on the link. On screen a message said “welcome ... blah blah blah ... a confirmation email has been sent” ... and I never received it ?

    Ozmodiar, which version/build of EE are you using? How about a link to the site in question?

    The site isn’t officially “live” yet, although some people might come across it ... so you can create new users if you want. Just use “test” in the username so I know they’re not real people ;p

    Thanks

    How about sending me a message to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and cc: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)? I’ll check both accounts.

    The activation email came back in English, but it took a while. Going to click it now.

    But when I click on the link, I see this text.

    Thank You!

    Your account has been activated.

    You may now log in and begin using it.

    NOTE: Unless you manually set up the notification email for new registrations, you won’t get a mail back that someone registered.

    In either case, the user who registers never gets an email after they finish the self-activation action.

    Does that make sense?

    Ooooooooooh.

    But in the email templates (email_data.php), there is the following “template” ?

    When is this template used? I thougfht it was after a membre activated their account using the validation email ?

    //—————————————————————————-
    //  Validated Member Notification
    //—————————————————————————

    function validated_member_notify_title()
    {
    return <<<EOF
    Your membership account has been activated
    EOF;
    }

    function validated_member_notify()
    {
    return <<<EOF
    {name},

    Your membership account has been activated and is ready for use.

    Thank You!

    {site_name}
    {site_url}
    EOF;
    }
    // END

    I believe that one is for when you have moderated membership- there’s a template to hold the message for when the moderator approves the membership (Member Account Validation Notification) and one for if the membership application is declined (Member Account Decline Notification).  But if they’re self activating- whose don’t go out.  Make sense?

    Could this be a “feature request” then ?

    I mean, 99% of the website where you need to sign up will send you a customary welcome email ...

    Thanks for the information!! 😊

    I think there may have been a request for it (I vaguely remember some discussion on the topic)- if not, it would make a good one to add.

    On the flip side?  It would be really easy to write an extension that does it- there’s a hook: member_register_validate_members - would be a simple matter to use that to have a welcome email sent.  In fact- might be worth a quick search of the extensions forum to see if anyone has written one.)
