How much trouble would it be to create a Rating System using the Smileys? From what I can see, Smileys is a pop up using Javascript and a bunch of images that correspond to, well, ‘smiley faces.’
Could a modified version of Smileys be created to insert rating stars? One star for bad, two for OK, three for good, four stars for very good, five stars for excellent, and so on.

Not a direct answer to your question by any means, but I thought I’d respond just in case…
A fellow EE user developed this nice little AJAX star rating system.
Would that suffice?

Stephen, very good. I’m digging into it now. Oh, and I’m digging into EE 1.6, too. Whew.
UPDATE -
It’s quite good, though a bit cumbersome to set up, and I assume there’s maintenance and compatibility issues, as this is more complex than Smileys.
