Editing Privileges

I have writers that contribute to my site. To avoid having them write about the same topic I’ve given them access to the “Edit” section so that they could see if anyone else has written anything before they write their own article. When the articles are submitted they remain pending until the editor comes to review the articles that are pending.

My question to you is this; I’ve been able to limit the writers editing privileges so that they could not edit someone else’s article, but can I stop them from editing their own after they’ve posted? Basically, once they submit I don’t want them to change anyhting.

Also, even though I’ve limited their editing privileges for other writers, they still have some editing privileges. When they click on the check box and scroll down to the drop down menu and click edit, the body of the article isn’t there but they can see and edit the title and URL. How can I stop them from doing this?

Consider setting up a new template, where you display “pending” posts for your authors - only they would have access, perhaps use a SAEF in addition. That way they’d need no editing rights at all.

I’ve helped Fabio set up a query for pending posts, and he’ll be able to integrate that with a stock SAEF for his editors.

No stand alone edit form at this point. 😊
