I’ve recently upgraded to EE 1.6.0 and everything mechanically seems to work great.  The new “Default” theme also seems to work great with one exception. I’ve noticed that the images that go next to each template name in the control panel don’t appear.  I’ve uploaded everything from version 1.6.0 to cp_global_images as well as to the rest of the theme directories as instructed.  I have permissions set at 755 for all themes.  Would anyone have an idea about what I may have missed?  Thanks for your help.

Odd indeed.  Let’s get this sorted out for you.

Could you try a few things for me?

    1) re-download and re-upload 1.6 (not path.php or config.php).  Redownload it since there was a build release after the initial offering.
    2) If the images still don’t load, are you comfortable viewing the source code of the page and looking for where the images should be?  I’m trying to see if they are even in the code, and if so, what the path is.

I’ve reloaded the program but seem to have the same problem.  When I view the source, below are two examples of the links that I believe go to the images.  I checked again and the two images referenced below are in my themes/cp_global_images directory.

    <a href="http://www.cellmatrix.net/themes/cp_global_images/rss_icon.png">http://www.cellmatrix.net/themes/cp_global_images/rss_icon.png</a>
    <a href="http://www.cellmatrix.net/themes/cp_global_images/webpage_icon.png">http://www.cellmatrix.net/themes/cp_global_images/webpage_icon.png</a>

    Thanks again for your help.

John, when I attempt to display the first image, I get the following error in Firefox:

The image “http://www.cellmatrix.net/themes/cp_global_images/rss_icon.png” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

You may want to re-upload those two images again, after deleting them first.

Sue, I’ve reloaded all of the images.  What is odd is that the EE logo on the same page looks fine.  The link for the EE logo looks like this:

    <a href="http://www.cellmatrix.net/themes/cp_global_images/ee_logo_sm.gifWygnbnU9hPxAFfUqIQU4dTE1b2MyBFNltypography_img_src_endborder=0 width=20 height=12 alt=ExpressionEngine ">http://www.cellmatrix.net/themes/cp_global_images/ee_logo_sm.gifWygnbnU9hPxAFfUqIQU4dTE1b2MyBFNltypography_img_src_endborder=0 width=20 height=12 alt=ExpressionEngine </a>

However, the images that should appear within the templates table do not show up.  Their links look like this:

    <a href="http://www.cellmatrix.net/themes/cp_global_images/css_icon.pngWygnbnU9hPxAFfUqIQU4dTE1b2MyBFNltypography_img_src_endborder=0 width=16 height=16 alt=View ">http://www.cellmatrix.net/themes/cp_global_images/css_icon.pngWygnbnU9hPxAFfUqIQU4dTE1b2MyBFNltypography_img_src_endborder=0 width=16 height=16 alt=View </a>

It appears that the only difference is the use of the single ( ’ ) vs. double ( “” ) quotes.

I’m using Internet Explorer - wondering if that’s part of the problem.

Nope, its not IE (as much as I’d love to blame IE), the images are corrupt.  Do you have access to another FTP program?  Try uploading the images in “binary” format if you have that option.

    Derek and Sue,

Loading the icons in binary as opposed to ASCII format corrected the problem.  Thanks again for all of your help.
