My search results page URL links to items seem to be working wrong - any ideas why?

In my search results page I have :

<a href="http://{auto_path}">{title}</a>

but this results in

http://www.website.com/index.php/articlename/

when it should be

http://www.website.com/index.php/news/articlename/

i.e. it is leaving out the template group of the section.
Any ideas why this might be or how to fix?

This is a configurable per-weblog setting.

Yep- you need to set the base search result path on a per weblog setting - in ‘Admin > Weblog Administration > Weblog Management > Edit Preferences’- go to ‘Path Settings’ and double check your setting for ‘Search Results URL’.
