    I posted this in the installation thread, but thought this was a better place to try.

    The image upload feature is malfunctioning now that I have everything upgraded.  When I click “upload file” in an article, choose the file in the “file upload” box, I get the error:

    A problem was encountered while attempting to upload your file.

    That’s it, no details….hmmmm…

    Grabbing the file via the “file browser” box works fine, and the images show up properly on the site this way.  I didn’t see any mention of any file upload issues to watch out for in the documentation, although I know this feature was modified in the version update.

    clarification - I cannot use the “browse” feature to get an image from my desktop, all I can do is pull something from my default image directory.  This is not good!

    problem solved…..I needed to update the permissions on my default upload folder.

    Less vague error messages would be so helpful!

    :cheese:

    davebias, the error message you’re referring to is in the lang.upload.php file

    “upload_error” =>
    “A problem was encountered while attempting to upload your file”,

    You could change that text manually. There could be other reasons why a file couldn’t upload, it could also be the lack of a valid directory name.

    But we’re glad you were able to find the problem and fix it. Enjoy 1.6!
