At the moment, I use templates for my static pages. I am considering whether moving to the Pages module would be beneficial, and the main thing that I feel I am missing when using templates is having the content be searchable.

But how does searching with the Pages module? If I have a searchbox for searching all weblogs, and I include the weblog that holds the entries that are used with the Pages module, will those be searched? And what will the search URls be like? Will it automatically use the url associated with each ‘Page’?

    Hi, Linda—

Yes, Pages are entries in a weblog, so they can be searchable depending how you set things up.

Because the search modules can use most of the variables from the weblog entries tag, the page_url and page_uri variables should be available to the search module as well.  You might need some conditionals to check if it’s a page or not in your search results, but it should work quite well. =)
