    Hi,

    I just updated from 1.5.2 to 1.6. Everything is fine, but in the head and foot section there´s still “Expression Engine v.1.5.2”. Build is 20070620. If I´m looking around, it´s just me. What did I forget? (Also, I have the “classic” ee_logo_sm.gif in my global images folder, but that´s because I have to refresh my license in a couple of weeks, I guess;-)

    Did you run the update.php page after you updated all your system files?  That is supposed to increment the version number, among other things.

    Yes I did, Arden. The last screen said that the update from 1.5.2 to 1.6 was successful. I have the new Publish drop-down menu, Pages module, everything is ok ... besides the version info.

    That is odd.  Are you using the default CP templates?

    Could you open up /system/config.php and look for “$conf[‘app_version’]” for me?  What does that say?  And while you’re in there, could you confirm that the whole file is 17-24 lines long?

    Hi Derek,

    the config.php says version “160” and is 24 lines from “<php” to “?>”. I was using the default theme (with modified colors and img).
    Five minutes ago I thought about another suspect: we are talking about a local install on a Mac and I have been using MAMP for MySQL, PHP. I upgraded to MAMP Pro a couple of weeks ago and noticed, that MAMP PRO moves the MySQL databases in different folder but doesn´t delete the orginal database. So maybe we have a mix od databases. I will try to find out.

    OK, let us know what transpires.  Also worth trying is to create a blank template with this in it

    {app_build}

    {app_version}

    The variables return “20070620” and “1.5.2”. I also deleted the old database in one folder so only the db with the new data is left, which I put in the Mamp folder, I deleted the caches again, but no difference. Is ist possible to run the update 1.6 on 1.6 again?

    This has also happened when I ran the update from 1.52 to 1.6 on my local MAMP install (not pro version). The update script returns success including for optimizing the tables yet my install still shows that it’s 1.52.

    One thing I did not do was take the site “offline.” Would this affect the upgrade?

    So we are two, Aelfin! No, taking the site down doesn´t help. Mine was offline.

    The update does create three new tables in my database. So the update script does do something. 😊 I wonder if the way MAMP configured PHP might be an issue (PHP Version 5.1.6)?

    So what you two have in common is that you are using a local install using MAMP, right?

    I’m a Windows girl, so I wouldn’t be able to replicate the problem. But we should be able to have some who does attempt to replicate the problem. Wolfram, are you using the same version of PHP?

    Yeah, there is definitely something odd going on here (as if you needed me to tell you 😉)

    I’m guessing that since you are Mac-heads, running Mamp, that you are probably pretty tech-savvy.  Could I ask you to try a clean install of 1.6 on your setups and see what you get?

    Wolfram, can you double check the config.php file?  Perhaps make sure that the right file is being reference by your server (and that you are looking at the right one) by adding:

    exit('yep!');

    after the opening <?php

    The App version constant is set directly from the config.php file, so it’s physically impossible for it to serve 1.5.2 unless it’s reading a config file that has ‘152’ for that value.

    PHP 5.1.6, and MySQL 5.0.19, Sue. (Side note: I will be out for dinner now, so I will not be able to answer in the next hour or two 😊
