Hello all,
I am trying to get rid of captcha within the tell a friend form. Without captcha, however, whenever I try to submit the tell-a-friend form, I get the error that “you must submit the word that appears in the image” ...
Any pointers to combat this would be great.

Go to your EE Control Panel -> Admin -> System Preferences -> Email Configuration and set “Enable CAPTCHAs for Tell-a-Friend and Contact emails” to no.
