For example, when I started to do music reviews on my website (nothing nearly as extensive as yours)

I just checked your page (wide-eyed). Lovely stuff!

Our review base (only about 1000 articles) are written in Finnish. I don’t write anymore myself, but there is bunch of extremely talented writers - so I thought that I offer them better tools and nicer website.

Old site still up and running: http://www.rockmusica.net if you are interested. We also have one talented photographer who has rock gallery on our site (running on WP). http://www.rockmusica.net/galleria/

Wow, too bad I don’t read Finnish.  That’s a great picture of Meg White, though my favorite so far is …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. It might just be my fanciful imagination, but it looks like the hand of god is coming down to scoop up their guitar player. Wonderful shot.  If I can’t enjoy the reviews, I can definitely enjoy the pictures.

Thanks for the kind words, re: my site. It’s definitely been a work in progress; but I do love the new wide-open layout a lot. And the many changes to the backend. The experimentation really does pay off though, a lot of protocols/policies that my organization (Nonprofit Tech) now uses as the basis for development with our clients were honed on my site. It’s afforded me a much better comprehension of when things should be broken off into separate weblogs, when to create new field groups, and custom status, extra.

I had my knowledge from databases, but that really had to be re-worked a bit for EE, since it’s not really generating new data tables every time you create a new weblog. But, I love it, and I think you and you’re crew will be very happy with the new system, once you’ve ironed out all the information architecture issues.
