I have huge amount of pages that does not meant to be updated etc. after they are created. They are simply pages that includes few pictures and some text. (a list of birds and butterflies in finland).

Do i have to create a weblog first to start buildint these pages and how to link them after then?

Hope you understood my question (again pardon my english).

    Thanks!

This is easier than ever in 1.6.

    1. Install Pages module
    2. Make a default static page template
    3. Make a weblog called static_pages (or whatever you like…)
    4. Configure the Pages module
    5. Make new page, and give it a URI - like “/my-new-page/”, and make sure it’s using a template that has a weblog:entries tag on it that is calling your static_pages weblog.

Visit http://www.yoursite.com/my-new-page/ - and there you go.

That’s pretty much it, as far as I understand it after having messed with it for a little bit.

i try to do this first. thanks many times.

But second question is: how to make categories to certain weblog?

Example: weblog is “buildings”. and i need to make those categories to it like “huge buildings”, “small houses” etc. And afterwards - i believe these categories is shown when i create new static page and there i can order to what category i create new static page?

    Thanks!
