    I’ve been using categories for navigation purposes for some time now.

    Always used the same, very basic code

    {exp:weblog:categories weblog="weblog_name"}
    <a href="http://{path=/}">{category_name}</a>
    {/exp:weblog:categories}

    Now, after upgrading to 1.60 this morning the old categories still show up normally—a newly created category only shows the last entry in the list. Not the last posted - but only the last entry in the list.

    Anyone an idea what I’ve overlooked or is this a little bug?

    —Edit—

    It’s even weirder now. If the last in line is a child item nothing shows up.

    Weird- let’s see if I can replicate.  So- the category tag above still works ok?  Shows all the cats/subcats, including new ones you created after upgrading.  BUT if you go to a link from a newly made cat- only the single latest entry in that category shows up.  And if it’s a subcat- no entries show up, even though they’ve been assigned to the category?

    Am I clear on what’s up?

    No—it shows all the categories I added before upgrading. The newly created categories don’t show up or show just a single entry.

    Let me clarify:

    Old Category:
    - Food Items —> entries > subentries > subsub

    All show up with the above categories tag.

    New Category
    - Sport items—> entries

    Only last one shows

    New Category
    - Sport items—> entries > subentries

    None show.

    iworx.media, any chance you can grant me superadmin access so I can take a look at things?  I can set it up to replicate on mine, but it will take a bit longer.  And I suspect today is going to be busy!  If that’s good- pm me superadmin access- url, username and password.  And point me to a template where I can see it in action.

    If access isn’t possible- I’ll get to creating some test categories.

    Cool- I’m in, and yep- that’s goofy!  I dug a bit and suspect there’s a bug.  Have given the crew a ‘heads up’ and will get back to you asap on what they have to say.

    Any idea on when it will be fixed? My client wants a working site by next thursday - so I’m running out of time :|

    —- Strange but true—-

    I created a group with add/edit/delete categories rights and added them, updated to the latest build and fiddled around ... now it seems to work.

    disable="category_fields"

    also helps if you don’t use custom fields in your categories.

    I can replicate this, and yes - using the disable parameter to disable category custom fields suddenly makes all of the categories appear.

    Just a note that this bug has been fixed, but if you have any categories that you created prior to the bug fix you will need to either delete and recreate them, or if you are comfortable in MySQL, adding rows for them to exp_category_field_data.
