What’s up with EE Core and the documentation?

Congrats to Ellislab on the newest release. The changelog looks like it will take a while to work though. You killed the “Download free version” link on the front page.
I never did understand what the pages module was for, looks like you guys are going to force the issue on me. 😉

I know you aren’t calling us crazy. My shrink can verify this. I have been taking my medication, one of each of the 6 pills and three of the green ones, 12 times daily, just like it says on the bottles.

Ah, much better. Beats “Invalid download selection” 😉

No doubt, at least it could have told me my fortune or whispered into my ear how sexy it thought I was. I would have walked away with a smile.

Wow, that’s quite a change log!

I say. I particularly like the next/prev with categories, and the hiddden templates are a nice touch, as are the icons. Well, not the icons themselves, perhaps, but they can be changed easily enough.

The ability to send HTML and plain text is a great addition. Lots of other handy additions too.
Need to play more with the pages module. On first glance it seems to have less features than Mark Huot’s module. Can’t see the ability to output hierarchical nav or order pages for example. Will give it some time but I’m not sure why Mark’s module wasn’t integrated rather than build a new module with less features?
A good release and congratulations to the EE team.

Mark’s module was not meant for high distribution originally and the strain of that showed all too often, so we wrote our own that while it does not contain the myriad of features that Mark’s Tome (formerly Pages) module included, it does fit most part of need and in the future will be extended to include more abilities.

Fair point. I don’t want to detract from all the hard work you have put in. I’ll have a further play with it and congratulations on the release.
