I am tasked with moving an EE site to a new server. I am new to EE, so I’m trying to determing the best approach.

    1. If I ftp download the current site to the new server, what is bound to go wrong? What if I don’t have access to the current site to download (ftp) files but I do have access to my EE admin? Current attempts to FTP my current site files have proven futile.

    2. Can I export all my data using the EEadmin and then import it into the new server?

    3. Or, If I open a ticket can Ellis walk me through some of this? This is a business site and messing it up at Christmas would be trouble.

Anyone experience issues.  The instructions that Ellis provides assumes the site is local and ready to move to the hoster.  I’m not that far along.
