I am new here and to Expression Engine as a CMS. I have heard that EE is really powerful, but I am not sure what type of websites it is good for.
I have a project which is something similar to a freelance website like oDesk or Elance. People will be able to create an account and fill some profile fields and companies will be able to search through their profiles and hire them. (Payment through the website is not a important function right now, but it will be in the future.) I would need a private messaging function too, all accounts will have inbox where they can receive messages from companies.
I am a web designer and have a lot of experience in working with Wordpress and Drupal, but I am new to EE. I can PHP too, but I prefer to not write modules myself.
Do you think I will be able to do this with EE and can you show me some websites,if any, that have similar functionality?
