    Hi there,

the contact form on a website (http://www.moloma.de) is working fine with most email addresses (from-field). When trying to submit the form with certain email addresses in the from-field, messages are not sent.

I can reproduce the error via the Communicate Tool in the CP.

Sending email from my .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) address works. Sending emails from my .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) address does not work. The latter produces the following error in the CP Communicate Tool:

    An Error Was Encountered
Unable to send email at this time.

Unable to send email using PHP mail(). Your server might not be configured to send mail using this method.

Any clue why this is happening and how to fix it?

    Thank you in advance,
    Oliver

It would appear that your server may not allow sending to emails addresses that are not on the site domain. That’s why you can send to @moloma.de but not @gmail.com - I would guess that you could not send to @yahoo.com either.

    You could try using SMTP…

    Hi Rob,

    thank you.

I was able to fix the problem by adding the replyto=“yes” parameter to the Email Contact Form tag as described in the docs:

    http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/add-ons/email/contact_form.html#replyto

The email protocol is still set to “PHP Mail”.

    Cheers,
    O.
