    Hi—

I’m building a site for a client that will be used as an intranet. They want to restrict access to a few pages, requiring a un/pw that only certain departments will know. Users would get prompted after they click one of these “restricted” links.

Is there a simple method or add-on to accomplish this?

(Site will be using Structure to manage pages, so ideally I’d like a solution that works with Structure.)

    Thanks,

    —Carl.

Not a Structure user, but native EE you’d just create a member group and some dedicated templates with the access mapped to that specific member group. No add-ons required.

    Hi Mike!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I’m familiar with that method, but am looking/hoping for something that would be easier for the client to manage themselves on a per-entry/page basis.

    Best,

I have used the Entry Access add-on which lets you map entries to member groups. Not for this specific application but it might still work.

    Thanks, I’ll check it out.

And I can’t thank you enough for your book(s) and screencasts—it’s how I learned EE! 😊
