    Hello,

I just download the latest version of Expression Enginee 2.7.2 (the Core / Free Version).

I wonder how useful is it to have the free version of the Expression Enginee ?

I also wonder why there is nothing to see on the first view after the installation mode.  Also is there any working website example that use Free Expression Enginee CMS?

    Thanks before.

According to the license the free version is restricted to non-commercial websites, and has certain functions disabled. So that needs to fit the criteria of your project. The reason nothing seems to appear on the homepage when you install EE is because it does not use a theme system like, for example, Wordpress does. This means it is down to you to develop your own templates from scratch.

Free version is eminently useful, and is a good way to learn about EE. I’ve several nonprofit sites running core, so it can run full size sites.

As to installing EE, you are given an option to install the default template (Agile Records) which will give you the opportunity to look at how a site is built. Uninstall (delete) your current instance, and install again, and pay close attention to the details provided for picking the theme. Have fun!
