I have a new installation of ExpressionEngine v2.7.2

I have unzipped a bunch of add-ons into the /var/www/jdm/system/expressionengine/third_party directory.

The directories for each of the plugins have following permissions: drwxr-xr-x

The files within these directories have permissions: -rw-r—r—

I cannot see ANY of the new plugins in the Add-ons > Modules screen (addons_modules).  The only modules listed are those that come as standard.

    Any suggestions?

Not all add-ons are to find at Add-ons > Modules
    Take the example of:
Switchee, it appears only at Add-ons > Plugins
Expresso appears only at Add-ons > Fieldtypes

    Wich Add-ons are you using?

I discovered the cause of my problem…

I had erroneously assumed that all module zip files had a standard structure - so was unzipping all in the same way, directly into the intended target directory.  Unfortunately this meant that the majority ended up in the wrong place!
