Situation is a bit convoluted, I’ll try to explain in the best possible way.
Over the summer, the company i work for had me start building a new website on EE. We had an older website hosted through an older provider so we decided to get a new hosting service as well. We wanted to keep the original address (for example ‘abc’ is original ‘def’ is new), So we set up a new domain name to build the site in order to keep the original website up and running for business, and so we could transfer/rename when the time came.
Issue lies in this, new website is built on godaddys servers, under def.org/index.php?. We just finished transferring the domain over from our old provider iglou. abc.org still points to the original website, but I want it to point to the new website, so instead of going to def.org which forwards to def.org/index.php?, abc.org would forward to abc.org/index.php?(the new website under the old name)
Im stuck in how to do this, I attempted to change the options in the general config options in EE, and then change the primary domain on godaddy, from def.org to abc.org. Once I did that how ever I had no access to def.org/admin or def.org/index.php?
Since then ive changed the primary back to def.org, but it as yet to complete. Waiting to regain access to admin panel and the new website to be displayed.
