    Hi, My host just sent a note that next week they are upgrading everyone to php 5.4 w/o an option to keep 5.3.  I’m running ee 1.6.8.  I’ve tested my site on another host running php 5.4 and it seems to run ok.

    I know that ee 1.6.8 doesn’t officially support php 5.4 but does anyone know of any major incompatibilities?  As I mentioned, my initial tests seem to indicate that it works ok but I haven’t tried every possible site function.

    Also, we are trying to upgrade our site to ee 2 but having difficulties.  Any recommendations for consultants to help with that upgrade?

    Thanks for any info.

    I just had a client whose host did the same thing, and they immediately reported problems with the following plugins:

    - pi.html_strip.php
    - pi.magpie.php
    - pi.word_limit.php
    - pi.xml_encode.php

    I “fixed” it by just suppressing errors with this line in the head of each of those plugins. There may be a better way but this was the first fix I saw that worked, so I went with it 😉

    error_reporting(E_ERROR | E_PARSE);

    YMMV.
