This issue has infrequently appeared for me, but this time I want to find a solution for it.
It would appear that the IPN signal sent to simple commerce module is breaking for a select few transactions that contain special characters in the IPN Message. The most recent one had this name in the IPN message “Geneviève”.
The item was not recorded as a purchase, and I didn’t get the notification email, and she did not get the notification email.
Has anyone come up against this in the past?
I was looking at the changelog, and I have seen numerous SCM updates in the more recent versions of EE, but nothing specifically about special characters causing errors.
Please help!
