I had hopes that the native RTE will work in 2.7 but I still get into issues using it.
I attached image to it and it gives out some funny html like this (btw, it centered the image by itself):

    <figure text-align: center ; " >http://www.example.com/images/gallery/image.jpg</figure>

why it center automaticly, why it is “text-align” and why it is not put into img-tag?

Is this the way the native RTE should work? If so, I have some 3rd party editors in stock and will install one of those since this looks funny, at least to my eyes…

I can’t comment on this particular issue, but my general advice with regards to the 1st party RTE field is: avoid at all costs, the price of a Wygwam license is more than justified when compared to the hours you’ll spend fighting with EE’s RTE field & its bugs.

It’s the software equivalent of a mirage, I don’t know why EllisLabs didn’t just license Wygwam (or one of the other existing 3rd-party CKEditor fields)... instead of building a semi-broken clone of it. It’s much clunkier to configure than Wygwam & there are fewer options to begin with; it has a stupid habit of inserting completely unnecessary break tags when text is pasted into it; and so far as I can tell it isn’t even SafeCracker-compatible (at least the last time I tried, it wasn’t).

I haven’t used the RTE since it was released and I can’t explain why it adds the alignment automatically, but I can answer the questions about the “funny” html - it’s using html5, which moves the align attribute out of the img tag and into the css.
