I have a fairly hefty site with a couple thousand products and heavy use of categories. We are planning on launching along with 2 other duplicates using the EE multi site manager. However there is a good chance a few other duplicates would be coming. So my question is should I be worried about server load and EE performance with multiple sites? Or just buy a separate license of EE for each and run them on separate server installs?

    Thanks - David

It’s going to be more a function of server environment than EE itself.

If you have a large number of custom fields I’d go the separate install route as you can run into limits within EE that way (remember field groups can’t be shared across sites).
