    Hi,
I have a site that has been running for about two years in EE 2.1.  Something was wrong in the CP all of a sudden and I just upgraded to EE 2.6.1 and Matrix to it’s newest version 2.5.6. I thought Matrix was the problem but after the upgrade I can’t submit anymore. That might have been the case also before the upgrade,

The error I get is “The Entry Date field is required” although the date is there. I have tried editing the date but still get the same error.

    Any ideas??

I’ve never seen that error before, but the first thing I would check is whether all the files in /system and /themes were updated correctly.

Did you figure out the issue? I am running into it. Thought it was Matrix and started using GRID instead, but still getting it!

No still the same here. I can make new entries though and I am thinking about just making new entries and deleting the old ones. But maybe the problem will reappear. Strange bug.

I have tried reuploading system and themes.

Did you see this: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/223058/#1025507 ?
I contacted my host company and I don’t have that and I am still getting the big. But, it may work with you.

I just increase a bunch of setting on my server and still getting it. I have no idea of what could be causing the bug.

I have about 100 sites running on same host. I have only seen the problem once. I have tried moving to a different server. Same problem.

it looks to me like an EE bug, but since they changed their support to paid, it is difficult, at least for me, to find solutions to issues like this. :(

I have been with host company working and moving around settings and not being able to fix the issue; they probably hate me by now.

Did you ever find a fix for this?  I am now getting this error, too!

FYI. We were able to fix issue by increasing the limit of post variables we can send. suhosin.post.max_vars is one place it may be limited, but so is the max_input_vars - which fixed our issue. Got support from EE 😛
