EE v2.6.1 + MSM not picking up root directory change in {path}

Hi,

I have EE v2.6.1 with MSM installed.
When I update the value of the root directory of a site the new value is not picked up in the {path=site/yada/yada} tag.
It still shows the previous value.

Anybody experienced this? Know how to fix it?
