S=0 being added to URIs when Sessions & Cookies enabled on font end?

I am curious to know why when I enable User Session Type to Sessions & Cookies on the front end my
```
{path='foo'}
```
URIs turn to
```
<a href="/S=0/foo">link title</a>
```
?

I am having the same trouble. EE 2.6.1
Thanks for any help!

For me, it is appearing in the redirect link in the standard EE login form (pasted directly from the user guide). When I change my settings to cookies, it works alright, but this is not my preference.
