    Hi

    I’m having an issue with phpthumb

    My code is -

    /resources/phpthumb/phpThumb.php?src={works_image}&w=100

    which gives an error but if I hard code the URL of the image, it works.

    /resources/phpthumb/phpThumb.php?src=/images/works/messages.jpg&w=100

    Rough test page is at http://vickycrowe.webfactional.com/index.php/gallery/works

    Any help appreciated

    Thanks

    Ken

    You probably need to include the surrounding channel entries or plugin code that outputs the works_image variable in order to troubleshoot. The test page shows that the variable isn’t being parsed and still shows up in the page source as {works_image}. Can you provide more code?

    Thanks - I have shown below the code, including an alternative use of imgsizer plugin. I really need to use phpthumb though as imgsizer doesn’t do everything I need. Page is at

    http://vickycrowe.webfactional.com/index.php/gallery/works

    and code is -

    {preload_replace:my_channel="works"}
    {preload_replace:my_template_group="gallery"}
    {preload_replace:my_single_entry_template="works"}

    Could it be as simple as you have “works_image” in your phpthumb src link as opposed to “work_image”?

    Wow - I thought that was sure to be it, but no. Updated page at http://vickycrowe.webfactional.com/index.php/gallery/works shows it’s still not working

    Thanks for help so far

    Well the {work_image} variable is now being parsed correctly though. You now get:

    phpthumb code
    /resources/phpthumb/phpThumb.php?src=http://vickycrowe.webfactional.com/images/works/winter_at_kittleybrig.jpg&w=200

    for example as output. What you’re looking for is a relative url instead of a complete url. So you now have:

    /resources/phpthumb/phpThumb.php?src=http://vickycrowe.webfactional.com/images/works/winter_at_kittleybrig.jpg&w=200

    which doesn’t work, and you really want:

    /resources/phpthumb/phpThumb.php?src=/images/works/winter_at_kittleybrig.jpg&w=200

    which does work.

    So you could try changing the code to:

    /resources/phpthumb/phpThumb.php?src=/images/works/{work_image}{file_name}{/work_image}&w=200
