Again, have you looked into how auto_path is populated (not what it’s rendering with but how EE decides what to put there)?

Hi,
I am sorry, I am getting lost now. Lets me ask you back, how to check how auto_path is populated?
Thanks

Hi Boyink,
I have read there so many times already and others by search engine. There should be a way to get [category]/[category-url] right? but how can it define that?
I really dont know how to do that.
Hope you can give me some more clues.
Thanks

OK - I was wanting you to notice this:
Unlike other “path” variables, this variable does not require the Template_Group/Template to be specified. Instead, the path will automatically be determined by the Search Results URL setting for the channel in Channel Management.
Each channel can have a different search result URL depending on how you configure the channel search result URL setting.
However, I didn’t see where you were trying to get category results. The EE search engine simply doesn’t search category content. It won’t see your category names, descriptions, or category URL titles. It only searches entries and maps them to a URL based on what you have specified in the Search Result URL setting.

Thank you so much for this, but can you give an example code of the search result URL setting? Thats would help me heaps. Thanks

Just point it to the template group & template name including the full domain.
Play around a bit - you’ll see what it generates.
