    When trying to add a new custom field.

    Hi Eli,

    This seems member group settings issue. Go to Control Panel -> Members -> Member Groups -> Super Admin -> Edit Group

    Check if “Include Members in PUBLISH page multi-author list?” is selected as “Yes” so that at least Super Admin be included with Multi Author list.

    Nice one, Bhashkar.  We’ve got a long term fix in for the next release- and the bug report has a code patch laid out in case the member permission change isn’t a good option for someone.  Though tweaking permissions is definitely the easiest temp fix!
