As time has gone by the graph now shows the major decrease in development. CodeIgniter, shown in red, has never had a trend in the negative direction that is as large/long as the one it is going through right now.
I’m not saying that CodeIgniter is dead, but its development seems to have gone into cardiac arrest.

If you hover over the right side of the graph, it does say it only has partial data for June.
You can also check forecast option 😉

I’ll believe it like I believe the forecast for the weather; when I see it.

Do not worrie about CI. Soon they’ll close down PHP (according to google trends)

it just shows, that google trends show, how many are searching the term. nothing else. this php example can be just explained with a fact, that everybody is using frameworks.

its seems that Laravel starts to be one or the best php framework at this time, so please re-write EE on Laravel

I don’t wanna get involved in such discussion but I don’t see how a php developer could choose Laravel over Symfony2.
Laravel uses plenty of static methods it’s annoying and hard to test.
AnyWay Ellislab is killing CodeIgniter Slowly. Even in CI3 with the new Licence You can’t change anything on the System Folder. Which make it harder to adapt CI to the new PHP changes and remove duprecated functions.

Seriously ... THAT is the problem you have with it? 😊
If you’re benefiting from CI, then I think it’s only fair that you give back to it by making your improvements public - that is really the only thing that the license asks you to do if you’re modifying system/.
As for the deprecated functions ... if you don’t use them, you shouldn’t care about them.

Actually, we are ensuring that CodeIgniter has a solid future. The process of looking for a new owner and handling the transfer is taking far longer than we anticipated, but there are a lot of considerations and moving parts to ensure its success.

That’s like saying McDonalds should serve Burger King hamburgers. Won’t happen.
