Strange string attached to urls with # sign.

Hi,

I have a website where recently EE started to attach strings to the url:

http://www.example.com/templategroup/article/#.UVwAVhlAt6Y

Anyone knows where that #.UVwAVhlAt6Y comes from? How can I make it go away? Does it affect search engine ranking?
