Hi All,

I am trying to allow my admins to upload larger files into their posts +/-50mb. I have updated the php.ini file on my server to allow up to 75mb files and made sure that in my upload prefs in EE I allow up to 55mb, however when I attempt to upload a file (<50mb) I get the following “An error was encountered. You are not authorized to access this page”.

What does this mean is there a setting I missed or is this just a poorly identified error that means something else.

Any help would be appreciated.

make sure your admin member group has permission to upload to the relevent folder,and that file type is set to Any (See file uopload preferences)

Yes admins have full permission and the file type is set to any.

Hmmm, that’s a stinker:

Is the php.ini syntax correct?
Is the upload folder writable?
Is there enough disk space on the hosting account, or does the host impose file size limitaions?

I have confirmed the syntax and that the folder is writable and I have oddles of space on my server. I guess it’s time to elevate this to the next level of support. I’ll check with the host one more time.

I was having a different issue with the FileManager when invoked by the upload image button. I recopied the themes folder from the distribution of EE and the problem resolved.

Advice for the host was to check the time at which the server can timeout on an operation - the “max_execution_time” in the php.ini -  which would make sense on a really large file. I intend to try that next and I’ll report back.
