Hi,
Running into this problem again.
So I’m on a MAMP install, changed all the permissions to 777, but still not able to save templates to file. I’m wondering if my path is correct? Here’s the path I get from Transmit:
/Volumes/Macintosh HD/Users/username/websites/domainname.local/sys/expressionengine/templates/
For a localhost, does the path need to be in a different format than this?

Hello,
I faced the same problem, when I moved my working files from localhost to production server.
These checks might help:
1. If you have moved your installation from development machine to server, check if you have followed the following steps enlisted at
http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide//operations/moving.html
2. Tools > Data > Clear Caching > “Page (template) cache files”
3. Design > Templates > Template Manager > Synchronize Templates
4. Change the file permissions of all the template files to 666
5. Change the folder permission of “system/expressionengine/templates” to 777
