I am building a subscription site and would like to offer certain content free, at least temporarily, but also keep it in the assigned channel. Can I assign two channels (ie Free & News) to the same entry? How would I do this? They would have the same category groups and channel fields. I am thinking about whether this is possible in lieu of posting the same content twice.

    Thanks!

You can’t assign more than one channels to an entry. But you can have an alternative solution for it.

As if 2 channels are having same fields, category and status groups then for any entry of these 2 channels you can update the channel from edit entry page.

To avoid re-publishing the whole channel entry, you can use MX Cloner (http://www.eec.ms/add-ons/mx-cloner/). Just clone that entry and assign second channel to it.
