Hi - The user guide is great in terms of giving me the tags to create the search function and also the tyags to display the search results. However, the guide does not give any information on how to automatically redirect to the search results. There is some back ground function being called to a new page which EE uses.  See the url below:

    http://localhost/mysite/index.php/search/results/2a132b085a9dec8a1303f27fba59baec/

so Bottom line Question: How do I redirect to display search results ?

    Many thanks !

Thanks - stupid I should have missed that - it works however, the links I get are for the empty template for a topic. I really would really like to be able to search for an entry. I would like to see a list of every entry where the category fits the search term.

The list of links would then take me to the relvant page.  Very similar to the EE forums.

How do I do that ?

Currently my url to a topic looks like this:

    http://localhost/mysite/index.php/main_category/roofing

    or:

    http://localhost/mysite/index.php/sub_category/ceder-shakes

Many thanks - also for the URL/URI question ! :o)

To elaborate I have a channel called “products” containing many entries.

A main category could be “Roofing”
a child category coyuld be Asphalt, Cedar, Cement etc

So if I search of for Roofing - I want to see everything that belongs to roofing main category.

However, if I search for Cedar, a child category,  then I only see entries for Cedar.

I hope that clears things up a bit.

    Many thanks !
