I did an upgrade from 1.5.2 last night to 1.7.3. After some teething problems (http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/233133), I’ve got the site up and running again and the client has been able to add entries.

However, there seems to be some kind of problem related to PATH_INFO so the URLs don’t work. I had the setting ‘Force URL query strings’ set to ‘No’. So one quick fix for the PATH_INFO problem would seem to be to set this to ‘Yes’.

Trouble is, I can’t make the control panel change the setting, it always reverts straight back - and it does with ANY setting change.

I’m logged in as a super admin.

Any ideas?

Check the permissions on the config.php file in your system folder. It should be set to 666.

Didn’t work, but it did point me towards changing config.php manually, which did work.
